Science Based Targets initiative

Through the 2015 Paris Agreement, world governments committed to curbing global temperature rise to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C. OECHSLER joins now the initiative to cut these emissions with science-based targets.

Who are the Science Based Targets initiative ?

The SBTi is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi call to action is one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments.

What Science Based Targets initiative Do?

• SBTi fight climate change by rising ambition to curb temperature rise to avoid the catastrophic impacts of climate change.
• Science-based targets show companies and financial institutions how much and how quickly they need to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to prevent the worst effects of climate change.
• SBTi focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emmisions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.
